What to look for in a Persian's Face
Persians and Himalayans do have some tearing due to their facial structure. Some have more tearing than others. This is a good reason to pay attention when picking out your new Persian or Himalayan. Look for wide set eyes. Also note the nose placement.

Wide set eyes means:  That their is a good amount of space between the eyes.  You want to see enough space to place another eye in the middle. This gives you a way of measuring. Not that you want another eye there:)

Nose placement means: That the top of the nose leather show not set any higher than the lower eye lids.  Some people don't mind if it sets as high as the middle of the eye.  BUT no higher!!!

The eyes and nose being all squished together means there isn't any room for the tear ducts and other necessary passages. This means eye tearing.  There is other medical and physical reasons for eye tearing, but this the main one.

Keeping your Persian's face clean will help cut down on the eye tearing.
